Adelaide Venue Management Corporation (AVM) is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Duty Manager to help lead the front-of-house operations at Home Ground, a popular dining destination located at the iconic Adelaide Convention Centre.

This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for outstanding service, operational excellence, and team development.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Manager and Head Chef, Home Ground, you’ll be responsible for the daily supervision of operations and team members, ensuring Home Ground delivers a seamless guest experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations and deputise for the Manager and Head Chef, Home Ground when required
  • Ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional guest experiences
  • Oversee rosters, team presentation, and performance to meet service and cost targets
  • Contribute to marketing and promotional initiatives to grow patronage and brand presence
  • Manage bookings, group events, and client communications efficiently
  • Maintain high standards in cleanliness, presentation, and food & beverage delivery
  • Drive team member development through training, coaching, and regular team briefings
  • Monitor stock control, minimise wastage and ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol and WHS requirements
  • Actively participate in environmental, safety, and return-to-work programs

Skills you will bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in a senior front-of-house role within a busy hospitality venue
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, train, and motivate staff
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of POS systems, liquor licensing, HACCP, and WHS standards
  • Business acumen with a focus on cost control and profitability
  • Availability to work across a 7-day roster, including peak periods (Friday–Sunday)
