The Organisation

Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) manages three dynamic event venues, Adelaide Convention Centre, Coopers Stadium and Adelaide Entertainment Centre, specializing in business, sports, and entertainment events.

The Role

Are you ready to take your accounting career to the next level while making a real impact? We’re looking for a motivated and analytical Early-Career Accountant to join our Governance & Finance team. This is a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation in internal audit, compliance, and continuous improvement within the dynamic world of venue management and hospitality.

Reporting to the Finance Manager Governance & Compliance, you’ll play an active role in strengthening our risk and control environment. From day one, you will participate in internal audits, contribute to process reviews, and risk assessments—while gaining exposure to financial operations, strategic projects, and our annual Pricing Plan.

This role is ideal for someone with a positive, can-do attitude, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment and is eager to learn and grow. We’re committed to developing your career in governance and finance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal audits and control testing
  • Assist with compliance monitoring and risk reviews
  • Support month-end and other financial compliance tasks
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business

Skills you will bring to the role:

  • A completed/or studying towards finance-related degree (highly regarded)
  • Experience in a finance or governance role (internal audit experience highly regarded)
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative and inquisitive approach to problem-solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with risk management and compliance frameworks (advantageous)
  • Industry experience in venue management or hospitality (advantageous)
