Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) is South Australia’s leading provider of venue management services. It is responsible for operating three of Adelaide’s most iconic venues: Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, and Coopers Stadium. AVM is also the proud presenting partner of concerts and functions at The Drive.


The Role

The Adelaide Entertainment Centre (AEC) is looking for casual Chefs to join the AEC kitchen team. Working with some of the most experienced and highly regarded Chefs in the state, the successful candidates will have a minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery (trade qualified preferred) be versatile all-rounders with positive attitudes and the capacity to develop in a structured team-based environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Food preparation and production, as directed by the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs
  • Contribute new ideas towards the planning of the AEC’s menus, based on current market trends
  • Ensure stock maintenance and storage practices are followed accurately
  • Ensure wastage is kept under strict control
  • Maintain proper hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times and comply with Codex HACCP Food Safety Management System, as necessary

  • Proven ability to calmly work under pressure to meet stringent timelines in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce food in line with customer expectations and standards.
  • Outstanding attention to detail ensuring the delivery of excellent food products to customers
  • Capacity to follow processes and maintain set standards at all times.
  • Innovative and a forward thinker.
  • Ability to work across a 24/7 Roster.
  • A sound working knowledge of HACCP and/or Food Safety protocols.
