Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) is South Australia’s leading provider of venue management services. It is responsible for operating three of Adelaide’s most iconic venues: Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC); Adelaide Entertainment Centre (AEC); and Coopers Stadium (CS); in addition to functions and events at The Drive.

As our team continues to grow, we’re looking for a hands-on chef to join us in a full-time role at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced catering environment and takes pride in running a kitchen that delivers every time.

This isn’t just another kitchen job.
This is for a chef who leads from the front, thinks beyond the pass, and knows that great food, great systems, and great people all belong together.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of food preparation and production, setting high standards for quality, consistency and presentation while ensuring food safety and HACCP compliance are second nature. You’ll take ownership of stock control, equipment care and waste management, making sure the kitchen runs efficiently across functions, corporate events and backstage operations.

You’ll also play a key role in shaping what we serve, contributing to menu development that champions seasonal, locally sourced produce and smart, high-yield dishes. Alongside the creative side, you’ll manage the operational details that keep everything moving recipes, documentation, rostering, labour coding, invoices and support for annual food and beverage planning. As a natural leader in the kitchen, you’ll train, mentor and guide the team, leading by example to create a positive, professional and safety-focused workplace while upholding WHS, environmental and sustainability standards.

We’re looking for a fully qualified chef with at least two years’ experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume catering operation. You’ll bring strong leadership and communication skills, solid commercial awareness, and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure. Most importantly, you’ll be proactive, innovative and aligned with our values. Someone who doesn’t just cook great food but helps build a great team while doing it.
