An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and reliable Loading Dock Attendant to join our North Terrace Loading Dock (NTLD) team on a casual basis.

The Role:

Reporting to the Loading Dock Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the North Terrace Loading Dock. The Loading Dock Attendant plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient receipt, storage, and collection of all event-related freight. The role also includes operating a forklift as required to support event logistics.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an orderly dock and ensure compliance with all relevant AVM policies and procedural requirements
  • Collection of good following events, including use of stickers for clear identification of items
  • Provide scheduling input to Loading Dock Manager and timely receipt of all deliveries of event items at the NTLD
  • Porterage and forklifting services when required to and from the NTLD to hired space
  • Communicate with clients on appropriate delivery times/dates and any goods left, post event
  • Assist with traffic management on loading dock
  • Varied hours including weekends

Skills you will bring to the role:

  • Experience in a significant Warehousing or Distribution role
  • A ‘can do’ attitude with a flexible proactive approach to problem solving
  • Thorough knowledge of WHS Laws, Standards, Policies, and Regulations
  • An up-to-date Forklift License/High Risk Work Licence
  • Be able to carry out the physical capabilities of the position
